Halloween Treats for School

Here are the treats that I made for my kids friends, classmates, teachers and principal.  Everyone loved the little test tubes filled with orange NERDS.  Each of the glassine bags were filled with a test tube treat, ghost eraser, bat ring and pencil.  Sorry the pictures are a little blurry, they are from my phone.

Have a great day!

Hair Ties in a Jar

Craft fair stuff has kind of taken over my life, at least my crafting life.  I have been saving (hoarding) these baby food jars for about three years, so it was about time to put them to use.  These FOE (Fold Over Elastic) hair ties are super popular right now, so I bought some of the elastic and made a bunch of the hair ties myself.  I made the hair ties, painted the lids to the baby food jars and voila!... a great little craft fair item.  I am still trying to decide if the jar needs a tag, not sure it does.  Each jar has a variety of 10 hair ties.  I am planning on selling the jar with the 10 hair ties for $7.  What do you think?  Would you pay that?  I hope some people will.

Have a great day!

July Club 3D Item

This is the project that my Stamp Club members did for their 3D item in July.  It is a cello bag that has been decorated and then filled with decorated clothespins.  You can either leave the clips as just clips or add a small magnet to the back to make them clips for the fridge.  I ordered some really inexpensive magnets from China, and all of my club members opted to add magnets to theirs.  It was a big hit with my group.

I am looking for one more member of my club, so if you are local to the Ventura County area and want to join, please contact me!  Stamp Club is a great way to make some free projects just for ordering your minimum ($25).  My club meets once every other month, so it's only a $150 commitment for the year.  Plus, you get the hostess benefits on the month that you host, which will be at least $25 in free merchandise.  Again, just contact me if you'd like to join or if you have any questions.

All supplies are Stampin' Up! except for the bag and magnets:

Stamp Sets: Postage Due and Gossamer Lace
Papers: Naturals White Cardstock and Natural Composition Specialty DSP
Ink: Island Indigo and Riding Hood Red
Accessories:
Stampin' Dimensionals, Linen Thread, Crumb Cake 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon, Postage Stamp Punch and Labels Collection Framelits

Have a great day!

Bright and Cheery Dots

This is the final card that I made for my card class this past Friday.  I cut 1/2 inch strips of the Polka Dot Parade DSP, lined them up in a rainbow and adhered them to a piece of Whisper White CS that I had run through my Big Shot with the Polka Dot Embossing Folder.  I popped up the embossed paper with Dimensionals, but it's hard to tell in this picture.

All supplies are Stampin' Up!:

Stamp Sets: Memorable Moments
Papers: Whisper White Cardstock and Polka Dot Parade DSP
Ink: Rich Razzleberry
Accessories:
Stampin' Dimensionals, White Bakers Twine and Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder

Have a great day!

Shoebox Swap Card

Here is the card that I came up with for the Shoebox Swap that I did with the group that I traveled with to Convention this year.  I was inspired by a card that I saw on Splitcoast, you can see it here.  You can definitely see the source of inspiration, but I put my own spin on it.  It's what I like to call a CWAT (Copy With A Twist).  This is also going to be one of the cards that we do at my card class tomorrow night.

All supplies are Stampin' Up!:

Stamp Sets: Postage Due and Field Flowers
Papers: Crumb Cake, and Natural Composition Specialty DSP

Ink: Versamark and Island Indigo
Accessories:
Stampin' Dimensionals, Island Indigo Bakers Twine and 2-1/2 Circle Punch

Have a great day!

A small gift...

My friend (and upline) Heidi King adds a small gift to her customer/club orders, many of which I have been the recipient of.  I wanted to start to do it for the orders that I receive, so it was perfect that she has challenged her downline to do the same.  I came up with these small treats for the girls in my stamp club this month.  There are three Hershey Nuggets in each bag.  I recently opened this pack of Polka Dot Parade DSP and I LOVE it!  The stamp set is a retired one called "Eat Chocolate".

I hope they like them as much as I do.  Have a great day!

Convention (2012) Roomate Gifts

I decorated mini composition books for my roomates (traveling buddies) this year at Convention. I then decorated some bags that I bought a while ago (non-Stampin' Up!) and put the mini comp. books and a mini gel pen in each bag. I plan on making more of these for the craft fairs I will be doing in the fall.

These are great for many things... password books, wish list book, a "favorites" book for your friends or anything else you can think of!

Have a great day!

You're "Just My Type"

This is one of the other cards that I did at the card class that I had in April.  I was really surprised that this stamp set did not make it into the new catalog.  I think it is a very versatile, fun set.  I definitely plan on keeping mine, but I tend to keep what I like.  I love the fact that there is a design in the First Edition Specialty DSP that discusses typewriters.  It is absolutely perfect when using this set!

As always, let me know if you have any questions.

Have a great day!

Mother's Day Card 2012

Here is my Mother's Day card for this year.  I had a class a couple of weeks ago and the attendees made two of this card in addition to two Father's Day cards and two cards using the newly retired Just My Type stamp set.  I was really sad to see that stamp set go.  I will post the card that I made using that set shortly.  As always, please let me know if you have any questions.

Have a great day!

Infused Vanilla Vodka

I have wanted to try my hand at infusing alcohol for a long time, and thought... what better time than for Teacher Appreciation?  I infused a bottle of vodka with vanilla beans for about 3 weeks and then put the yummy vanilla vodka into re-purposed frappuccino bottles.  I think they turned out super cute, and I had a little basket that they fit in perfectly!  These would be great gifts for a small group, they could get pricey if you make them in large quantities.  I am thinking maybe for a night out with your girlfriends you could give these as little gifts.  Let me know if you have any questions.

Have a great day!

Teacher Appreciation Gift Basket

Yesterday was the final fundraiser for this year at my son's elementary school.  It was called Geckos on the Green and was golf themed (as you may have guessed by the title).  There were items that were donated for a silent auction in addition to raffles.  I donated a card class for 6 plus this Teacher Appreciation Basket.  Included in the basket was:
  • A gift card holder
  • A decorated tin with wrapped Hershey's Nuggets
  • A teacher themed composition book w/ matching pen
  • A teacher themed clipboard w/ matching pen
  • A 6 pack of handmade cards with coordinating envelopes
I hope the recipient enjoys all of the goodies.

Have a great day!

Birthday card for Zavian

Sorry, for the dark pictures, it was raining the day I took the pictures and so the natural light was non-existent.

I needed a birthday car for Zavian's 2nd birthday and was inspired by a card that I saw on Marcella's blog, here. I liked the bright, happy colors and the use of white twine. I decorated the envelope with a popped up kite since this card was being hand delivered. I didn't realize until we were getting ready to leave for the party that my kites don't have strings, just tails. These are apparently runaway kites. Oh well, I'll get that right next time.

Have a great day!

Birthday card for Makai

Here is the card that I made for (my friend Heidi's daughter) Makai's 4th birthday. I wanted to do something with a rainbow, and I just happen to have every color of the retired corduroy buttons (shocking, I know). I used the "frosting" from the cupcake punch for the clouds. I think it's a pretty happy card for a 4 year old.

Have a great day!

St. Patrick's Day Class Treats

These are the treats that I made for my kids classmates for St. Patrick's Day this year. The Rolo is meant to signify the pot of gold at the end of the (m&m) rainbow. I really wanted to stack my m&m's in a rainbow, but to get it to look the way I liked it took a lot of candy. I thought better of giving the kids that much sugar and just went with the mixed rainbow m&m's in the bag. Thanks for looking.

Have a great day!

Valentine's Gifts for Preschool Teachers

Happy Valentine's Day!

This was a project that we did at my club meeting last month, and I made extras for all of the teachers at my daughter's preschool. This is the fifth straight year that I have had a child at Christian Preschool, and I am also on the school board there. I have two more years after this year, Ella will start in the Fall. They are an amazing group of women, and I wanted to be sure they knew they were loved by us this Valentine's Day. My other obsession, other than altering things, is candy. I just love to fancy-up some candy!

All supplies are Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted:

Stamps: Apothecary Art
Paper: Very Vanilla Cardstock and Everyday Enchantment DSP - from Sale-A-Bration
Ink: Timber Brown StazOn
Ribbon: Baja Breeze Seam Binding and Linen Thread
Accessories: Framelits Label Collection, Watercolor Crayons, Aqua Painter, Hershey's Nuggets, double stick tape and unknown brand of cello bags

Have a great day!

Another Teacher's Gift

If you know me well you know that I have a real obsession with altering things, and a composition book is right up there on my list of favorite things to alter. I am trying to build up my "stash" of supplies for craft fairs. Plus, it's always handy to have ready made gifts. I love buying from Stampin' Up!'s Clearance Rack for making my craft fair items. It helps to keep my costs down so I can charge less while still earning money. I am still obsessed with Stampin' Up!'s Love Letter DSP, I am not exaggerating when I say that I have 5 unopened packages of it. It has a new rival for my favorite though... have you seen the new Sale-A-Bration DSP Everyday Enchantment? I will post a project soon using that DSP.

All supplies are Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted:

Stamps: None
Paper: Love Letter DSP and Graphic 45 Alphabet Soup Paper
Ink: None
Ribbon: Riding Hood Red 3/8 inch Taffeta Ribbon and Linen Thread
Accessories: Deck the Halls Big Designer Button and RSVP pen

Have a great day!

Very Belated Christmas Post

I realize that I've said this before, but I really want to be better about blogging. Either I will or I won't, you'll have to wait and see. This is a decorated kraft box that I filled with Rolo turtles (the chocolate kind, not the animal kind) and gave to our neighbors for Christmas. I was really happy with how they turned out. I made four and they were all a little different. I was really happy that Stampin' Up! put these little boxes in the new Occasions Mini, I hope they make it into the big Idea Book and Catalog this year. The supplies are varied, here's what I used:

Stamps: None
Paper: Stampin' Up! Holly Berry Bouquet DSP and Graphic 45 paper (for the "tag")
Ink: None
Ribbon: Cherry Cobbler Bakers Twine
Other: Stampin' Up! Kraft Box, Dimensionals, clear rhinestone brad and felt flowers/leaves that I bought at an Amish stamping store in PA (don't know the manufacturer)

I hope to see you soon!
